Enduring Power of Attorney
The EPA is an extremely useful document because it means that someone can be appointed to manage affairs on behalf of another person. The EPA can be limited or restricted, for example to deal only with certain assets or perform specific duties, or it might be more broadly based such as managing all the financial affairs of someone else. Typically it might only come into effect at certain times, such as when the person giving the EPA (the 'donor') has become incapable of managing his or her own affairs either through old age or as a result of an accident.
